BIRTH AND FIRE was born in Paris in 2009, from Jessica Fitoussis’ soul diva personnality and guitarist Jonathan Nicolas, known for his luminescent musicality. Then came pianist Nicolas Derand, the volcanic kind, from his reunion island origin, as well as his verve. Timothée Robert, the bassist, who was a friend at the international conservatoire, and Julien Goepp, best young french drummer, who won numerous competitions, filled the magic in... Jessica Fitoussi is a soul-jazz vocalist who embraces numerous musical genres, explorating new sounds from cinematographic Pop to progressive Soul. After «Modonut», an album playlisted onto numerous main radios, where she sings on featurings, Jessica is explorating a new repertoire with «Birth», the new BIRTH AND FIRE album. Added to that, Jessica has sung many times on stage during the last years, developping improvisations, like with Maceo Parkers’ opening (James Brown saxophonist and funk, jazz and soul composer), at the Nouveau Casino, and with her band BIRTH AND FIRE, at the Théatre Traversière and La Scène Bastille. «Birth» was composed by Jessica and arranged by the bands members. The lyrics were written by Jessica and Lewis Cusbert Ashton, a british director. Nicolas Derand, the bands pianist, had a major contribution into «Birth» harmonies building, the renaissance of some kind of musical preciosity... Without forgetting the musical charisma of guitarist Jonathan Nicolas, bassist Thimothée Roberts’ talent, and the flaming Julien Goepp in his drum breaks... «Birth» has just been mastered at Soundgarlands Studios in Paris and will be rated easily in the international market, among the major new rock albums in 2012.
